AssuranceAmerica Celebrating GSU RMI Students of the Year

Georgia State University, J Mack Robinson College of Business riskies awards

On April 9, AssuranceAmerica executives virtually gathered with GSU RMI program directors, Foundation staff, and the 2020 Riskies Students of the Year and their parents to celebrate the student awardees who were to be recognized this spring at the 6th Annual Riskies Awards. The Platinum level sponsor hosted the Zoom session, which brought together students and their geographically distant families for a celebration of the student's achievement and drive for success. It was a festive program with AssuranceAmerica's President Joe Skruck, CFO Daniel Scruggs, and Executive Vice President of Insurance Services Scott Pitrone offering congratulations, leading applause, and presenting a scholarship to each awardee.

Anne Ostholthoff, AssuranceAmerica's VP of Development, organized the event and felt a sense of duty to overcome the obstacles that stood in the way of recognizing excellence. "We empathized with the students who missed out on the opportunity to be recognized for their achievements. It was touching to see some of the parents checking in from West Africa."

Riskies student honorees are chosen by Department of Risk Management and Insurance Program Directors, and they exemplify the mastery of their respective studies and leadership within the student body. Each awardee receives a $1,250 scholarship donated by AssuranceAmerica.
